"The Art of Presence"
Brigitte Puschmann: contemporary abstract painting, serial image systems and space installations

As a contemporary artist from Munich, I explore how presence emerges – and how it shifts again in the next moment. My abstract paintings are based on serial, modular systems in which color, line, and rhythm change depending on the viewer's perspective and the light. My guiding principle for years has been: not everything is black and white. Life is multifaceted – and it is precisely this multifaceted nature that I want to make visible.

Painting between order and transformation

My works move between canvas and space: large-format acrylic painting, modular image systems, and installative sculptures that can be rearranged. Straight lines, geometric shapes, and reduced color palettes make structures visible that provide orientation even in turbulent times. My art encompasses six series of works—from the Stripes to the Infinity Series, whose acrylic tiles can be recombined over and over again.

Stations that carry my work

In art, trust is not built through grand words, but through verifiable milestones. I am a master student (Meisterschülerin) of Prof. Markus Lüpertz at the Academy of Fine Arts Kolbermoor. My works are included in collections such as the Copelouzos Family Art Museum in Athens, and in 2026, I was named a finalist for the Malamegi Lab Art Prize in Milan. My paintings have been featured in the art magazine Parnass as well as other international art publications. Exhibitions have taken me and my work across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and USA; I am represented by Galerie Konsum163 in Munich's Kunstareal.

You can find all milestones, exhibitions, and press reports in my biography and exhibition overview.
